What does the clipper tang look like

Second from the top. Not my pic but its been floating around here. Not sure who made it but credit to them.

Is it posible to rehandle a tang like that? im suprised because i have lightly battoned with this and it keeps on going.

YES...I've done it.....I've taken the knife to the band saw and cut along the flat side of the tang......not to the Clipper, I like that handle too much, but to one of the Army Green plastic handle jobbies.

bob the clippers got great handy ergs..for about 8-10 bucks you can buy a mora blank and rock it out anyway you want...

I like the handle too but it would look much better with a wood handle.

Gotcha. That's a pretty good idea actually, just copy the shape in nice figured maple or something

How you going to attach the handle? If you want a pin through it, you'll either have to drill through hardened steel, or maybe deepen that notch near the end of the tang... that way the pin would at least be enclosed on 3 sides and would keep the handle from ever slipping off. If it's a carbon steel blade, you might be able to soften the tang with a torch somewhat, to make it easier to drill.

Epoxy or JB Weld would take care of the rest and should used regardless. Honestly, on a small knife like that, I wouldn't complain much if you just used JB Weld and skipped the pin.

Dangit man, now ya got me thinkin about another project ;)

It's very doable to rehandle it. I just used wood-filler epoxy and it's held up so far.
