What does the percentage bar mean inside of an open PM?

Not the percentage bar when you just open your inbox via "show your pm's", but specifically the percentage bar at the bottom of an open private message when you're chatting with someone?

Should be the percentage of your allowed messages that you've used.

If that's right then I have a tiny amount of message space to begin with.

I thought the total amount of pm space was in the main "show all" inbox.

AFAIK there are two tallies: total number of discrete conversations (at Gold I get 100) and total number of individual messages (Gold = 250).

Looks like Knifemaker gets you 200 conversations and 500 total messages -- unless there's a third percentage/count I don't know about, which is totally possible (I don't find XenForo's conversations very intuitive).

Well, one of my percentage bars is at 9% and the other at 91% and I've already pruned old conversations. I guess the 91% is total individual measages but sheesh... sure doesn't look like a lot on my end.

Make sure to empty your trash box of deleted messages, they still count until you empty it.

Didn't even know about that! But deleting them didn't change anything unfortunately.

I left four conversations and my percentage went from 91% to 78%. It's my humble opinion that we should be alotted more pm space. It's just plain text and shouldn't be bandwidth intense.

I wish Knifemakers membership had Many More message capabilities.

just a couple separate conversations can eat up Alot of space.

Or/and I wish we could delete insignificant texts within the actual conversation. I get alot of few worded posts, and that too eats up Alot of message allotment.
