They will be slightly raised around the edges and often a little crooked or uneven because they were done with individual letter stamps.Sorry, I can't get a photo just yet. What do after-market stamps usually look like?
Aftermarket just means somebody intentionally did something to it after it left the factory, it's not a type of axe or anything. That's good to know. This stamp is crooked and set high near the poll but on the cheek side with the weight, brand, and model stamp. Would it be someone's initials? What is an aftermarket axe?
Ok, Thanks. I think that is what the PH means.Aftermarket just means somebody intentionally did something to it after it left the factory, it's not a type of axe or anything.
When I mentioned aftermarket stamps being crooked with raised edges, it's because somebody got a set of these and put their initials or a property number...etc in the head.
it's hard to keep these damn things straight, I know I can't stamp anything out evenly with them to save my life.
To be clear we're saying that the PH could just be an owners initials or something, not that it signifies the axe having been modified or anything like that.Ok, Thanks. I think that is what the PH means.
Yes. Thanks for all the great information. To be clear we're saying that the PH could just be an owners initials or something, not that it signifies the axe having been modified or anything like that.
