The screw halfway down the handle of the Applegate/Fairbairn suggests that the tang is fairly substantial, but I wonder just how substantial it is.
According to Böker's catalog, there are weights to adjust the knife's balance inside the glassfiber-reinforced nylon handle. So obviously the dagger can be disassembled.
Could someone describe how long and wide the tang is?
If someone could take a picture of the bare tang for me, that'd be even better of course.
While I'm at it, how is the fit of the handle? Does it properly protect the tang against moisture?
Can the weights be adjusted so the dagger balances at or around the position the index finger sits?
Also, what do you think of the Kydex sheath some versions come with?
Lots of questions, I know...
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on the matter!
