What does the X mean, in Buck 110X?

I noticed a 110x on ebay and it had 2 brass pins as well as the spring rocker pin. I thought the 2 pin handles were the early ones.

Also Buck, what steel do you prefer, the new steel or the old 440c?

Buck has a forever warranty on their knives. The two pin knife you saw most likely had a blade changed by Buck via warranty work.

Hey AR Fan...
Maybe it was rebladed???
I dunno.

I like the newer steel...but maybe that is more because of the new edge geometry. Having said that, I don't use a standard steel 110 as an EDC that much. My 110 rotations are a BG-42, S30V, and BuckCote.

Hoping some of the steel experts will chime in. I'm just a pillock ;)

Soooo.. if my wife ACCIDENTLY left the knife on the bumper of the truck and she backed over it, it could go in for a blade replacement? Possibly in s30v, bg-42?

Hay M16 wantabe,

If your wife mistreats your knife you better.......just kidding AR fan. If your knife brake's you can send it into Buck for warranty replacement work.....as far as Buck letting you pay for the up-grade in steel.....you have to ask them buddy. They may do it and they may not. What brand of AR are you a fan of? I have a Bushmaster and love it....so much fun to shoot...holes in dimes at 100 yards;) .

John...you didn't ask me, but I have a Colt Flat Top HBARII AR-15.

Hey JB, I taught all the small arms used the military, till they retired me, the bastards.
I like bushy first, DPMS 2nd and Armalite 3rd. I earned my Distiguished Rifleman badge with an off the rack M-16, as I was active at the time, I also earned Distiguished Pistol shot the year afterwith a 38 revolver. That kinda dates me as they haven't used that gun decades. A also enjoy shooting the AR-10 in .308 that John Noveske reworked for me, it shoots dime sized groups at 100 yds.

I have a DPMS flat-top; 16" HBAR; flip-up iron sights; optical & scope; 2nd upper w/handle. Nice rifle. :)

My AFRES squadron changed over from the S&W model 14 to the 9mm M9 in about 1996 or so...Not that long ago... :grumpy:

I wish I could find one of those S&W's now...For a while, with Police going to 9mm autos, they were cheap [$125]...Now they're nowhere to be seen... :(

I picked up a S&W model 15 in the early 90's for a song. It had a little holster wear but was basically a new revolver. Now I wish I had picked up a few more!

jI have collected guns for years. I was not interested in any of the so called assault rifles....I guess it was a Calif brain washing thing. Then I was at the range with one of my co-workers....he had just bought a new Bushmaster...he said want to give her a try....the rest was history. What fun that black plastic AR was to shoot. Now I've got two tops for my Bushy...16" and flat to 20", H&K G3, SKS, M1, M1 Grande (after watching "Saving Privet Ryan" I learnd how to load the Grande without pinching my thumb).

AR Fan, you could teach me how to shoot the toys the right way!!!!!

Jb, if you're near Northern MI. stop on by we'll go to the range. I'm the range master of the local police range. We can shoot AR's, 15's as well as 10's and a M1-A with a picatinny flattop you don't see one of thos very often.
