What does this serial # tell us about this knife? "S0 061" or "SO 061"

I own a few of the "SS" serialized Schrades which were on "Salesman Sample" or "Shop Sample" knives but I haven't seen a "SO" prefix before. This 75th Anniversary knife is "SO 061" unlike any other example I've seen. Any ideas guys?

Hi Dave --

A favorite of mine, that 75th Anniversary issue!!

In my limited experience the '061' is still pretty much in the range of the 'SS' numbers I've seen.
Have seen high 50's as I recall.

The 'SO' has me stumped for an explanation, though.

It's a Zero, not an "O", but I'm not sure if that is significant, or an engraving error and it is supposed to be an "O". I'm not familiar with that issue. Do all of them have the split number like that?

I would say it is a zero too, Hal, but maybe it should have been an "O" as you mentioned. These knives usually have a 4 digit numeric only serial which is why I posed the question. Thanks for you thoughts guys.

I always thought the SO was special order but never had it confirmed. just my 2 cents
