When did S&W start lending their name to inferior products? I agree with the general opinion of this forum that thier knives are sub-par. It seems that even their auto handguns are getting bad reviews lately. Why?

I am unaware of bad reviews of S&W autos, and fairly frequently visit TFL. S&W autos, of course, have always been ugly and large, but their function is absolutely reliable, and accuracy acceptable. Walt

S&W is getting bad press because of their agreement with the Clinton administration, a huge step backward for the RKBA movement. Much as I loved S&W revolvers, I'll never buy from them again, nor from anyone who sells or advertises their products.

S&W evidently sold out to the Clintonites now that it's owned by European interests. Another great US tradition down the toilet. Well, flush twice... good-by, S&W.

Anything for a profit, is that not true? Traditon or not. In a global economy, does not Ralph Klein(Premier , like Russia, of Alberta) say anything is for sale? Damn, there goes Health Care....Flush

I am glad to see this come up.

I will never buy a S&W product. Nor should anyone that belieyes in the rule of law. Regardless of your position on gun control, what has been arranged between Clinton and S&W is illegal, preferential buying and such, circumventing the legislative process, erroding away at the rule of law which is crucial to peace. Though less laws would be nice.

S&W sold their name to a less than sterling product in their knives, and they have shown similar judgement in this political move. I actually have more respect for their knives than this.

I bet their was some screams at Taylor Cutlery.

Folks it is a sad time we live in when the President can publically blackmail a gun company. I used to be a dealer and I am glad that I got out. For all the Smith and Wesson's that I have owned and sold I too shall never buy another. I think S&W nailed their coffin shut listening to Clinton and will be out of business within 2 years. Oh well at least Glock is hanging in.

I am proud to say that I too will NEVER purchase any S&W Product or any such item associated with S&W.

They dug their grave - now they gotta fill it.

I don't think that S&W will go out of business anytime soon. they have made a deal with the devil like Colt did. Give up the civilian market and concentrate on military contracts for the Feds and, with their collusion, overseas markets. Global arms trading as policy tool.

Do not smoke, it's bad for your health.
But promote export of tobacco.
Good for tobacco growers,
not so good for oversea people.

This thread has quickly gone from discussing the mmmmmmm debatable quality of S&W/Taylor knives to the very hotly debated roll of S&W in gun politics.

So off to the Politics Forum it goes.
