What ever happened to the Kershaw Whisper? I was looking forward to this folder, but has Kershaw decided not to release it?

What ever happned to the Kershaw Whisper??

This topic has been asked several times in the past already - folks here must have a lot of patience 
Kershaw originally planned to do the Whisper in-house at their Portland facility but the cost was too high ($350 SRP). They shifted production to Japan in order to lower the costs without compromising on craftsmanship. Also, rumor has it that Ken is trying to engineer an ambidextrous Gate Lock so the blade can be released with either hand. No word yet on if he is successful, and if he is, if doing it ambi is cost efficient and won't make the price jump up anymore.
Not to worry, this knife is still in the cards for the Kershaw folks.
Maybe with the upcoming SHOT show, Kershaw will be releasing new developments on this knife. And if I do receive news on this I certainly will post here.
