Hello all- Yes, I know what mil-spec means but exactly how do these differ from others ?
I saw md10mm's post below and he has a '99 mil-spec for trade but how does that knife differ from say, a '98 Commander or a non mil-spec '99 ?
Do the mil-specs have thicker liners or longer blades ??
Just curious !

Thanks everyone, Donald.

Just sitting here doing nothing with my 98 Commander in one hand and seeing my calipers I decided to compare the two.

Here's the dimensions on the 98 Commander

Blade Length: 3.75 inches
Handle Length: 5 1/8 inches
Blade Thickness: 1/8 inch
Handle Thickness: 36/64 ths
Liner Thickness: 2/32

I hope this gives you a basis for comparison.

just so thiers no confusion my measurements were aproxmite,it is the same as a 98.....

The "Mil-Spec" was a special, small run that EKI did in 1999. They were the first to use the Green-T finish. There are Mil-Spec Commanders and Specwars I believe.

They are pretty damn rare and finding a NIB example is all but impossible. (
