I am sure this has been covered before and I did a search but did not get the answer. I have an idea what INFI is from reading the Busse web site and I know what SR101 is from reading the SRKW web site, but what is/was modified INFI? How does it compare to INFI? Is it hardened/tempered the way INFI is or is it differentially heat treated. I imagine it is not as good a steel as INFI but in what way is it a lesser steel?

It's infi with a few alloying elements altered to make production cheaper, it is through hardened.

History,

His, story.

One day Mr. Busse will tell the whole story,,,in public.

That will be up to him.

Till then,,,,,,,seems like Opinions Vary

In the Olden Days there was a non- Discloser contract you signed to work with Busse.

I have a copy somewere, I did not sign.

But it is not my story to tell.

Personalities conflict, Great knives Endure

It is like regular INFI, except it is alloyed with Carling Black Label beer and tempered with cigars.

Mr Skunk,

Your secrets are safe with me.

So are Mr.B's

You might say that documentation is my life.

Pictures, notes, recordings, Memory, (extrapolation and intuitve leaps are cool) but Documentation is everything, way to often in life things hang, not on what you know, but what you can prove

Thanks Yoda4561 and to all the others that responded. I have not kept up with all the particulars of the Busse Combat Knife company. I think they may be the toughest knives out there that can keep a sharp edge. They are unfortunately a little outside my price range. Maybe one day I will pick up a used Basic 7 or Camp Tramp.

God's gift to humanity, just like regular INFI. As noted long ago, "Around here, Jerry isn't *LIKE* a god..." ;)
