What finish for checkered micarta/ G10?

OK. I' ll try this once again since there wasn' t any real solutions in the past. What is the best finishing product to apply to checkered micarta and/ or G10? In my experience a white powdery hue(?) remains after the scales are cut into. I' ve had 3 recently returned with a buffed finish and it appears that there is no white hue. Time and use will tell. Some have suggested a dabbing of a coat of polyurethane would work well. What are your thoughts please.

I DON'T PUT ANYTHING ON MICARTA, I JUST WHITE ROUGE IT TO BRING TO A NICE SMOOTH SLICK SHINE. BUFFING WILL REMOVE ANY DULLNESS IT HAS. TAKE CARE! MICHAEL
