In what order would you use the following stones to finish an edge:

-ultra-fine Spyderco Sharpmaker stone.
-6000 grit waterstone.
-hard Arkansas stone.

The only time I go past a 1200 DMT is on SAK's, and even then once they have that stropped, mirror polish I give them a few swipes on 1500 wetdry. An over-polished edge isn't terribly versitile.

With the hard Arkansas it depends on the quality. I is likely rougher than the other two though. Between the UF and the 6000 there is not enough difference to make any transitioning worth it. Just finish on either. If you are still practicing on the 6000, finish on the UF, it will "even out" the mistakes you made on the 6000, i.e. remove residual burrs.
