So the other thread got me thinking. This group of fixed blade owners must have pretty good taste in folders so I figured I would ask what every one has in their collection. I will start with mine.

Here is my meager collection of folders. I have a few more than that but they are duplicates mostly. There are some really tough ones in there along with some very light ones. I have gotten rid of most of my customs, just because I was afraid to carry and loose a $600 folder. Now I still to production folders under $300.

Favorite Busse tough folder is Lionsteel sr1. Most carried Spyderco Caly 3.5, BM 710, 615, ZT 560. Spyderco are most abundant, followed by BM and ZT. Have couple CRK Sebenza's. No Hinderers to my shame, but will get it corrected one day.

These 8 Folders + 2 MultiTools are interchanged

1. Spyderco Paramilitary 2
2. Spyderco Manix 2 XL
3. Zero Tolerance 0200
4. Zero Tolerance 0301
5. Buck Vantage Force Pro
6. Buck Alpha Hunter
7. Kershaw Skyline
8. Benchmade Adamas

1. Victorinox Hercules
2. Leatherman Surge

Here are my favorites. I have others but they don't make the rotation.

I think the Sog blink gets the most carry. Small, light, fast.

I've collected several folders over the last 15 months or so:

  • Matt Diskin Volcan
  • Matt Diskin Damascus
  • Ramon Chaves full custom Rendicion
  • Ramon Chaves 228 - a couple different versions
  • Alan Davis - two different customs
  • JB Stout 325
  • Medford Praetorian Ti - 2 different customs
  • Medford 187 RMP
  • Sebenza 25
  • Todd Begg Bodega
  • Dalibor Draco Integral
  • Sharp by Design Typhoon
  • David Clark Datz
  • Benchmade 940 Osborne
My folders need to be functional, they are not just for looks. The Medford Praetorian Ti's, full custom Redencion, and Dalibor Draco are all overbuilt folders, but in my opinion the Dalibor is a definite cut above; it's the nicest folder I have so far had the pleasure to own. The Bodega with the ceramic IKBS bearings make for a really awesome action. I was never really a big fan of the Sebenza's until I picked up a Knife Art exclusive with the full show side in carbon fiber (not inlays), for me it really made the balance feel great, and it goes in my pocket quite a bit and I don't feel bad about using it relatively hard. The Datz is a pretty cool design because the blade is completely hidden inside the handles when closed.

M.O.W. by Todd Heeter, folder/flipper equivalent to a Busse 😉

I am a short list kinda guy now. Over my time here on the forum, I went from knife knowledge 2.5 out of 10- maybe somewhere around 6.5 now. I pretty much use my knives for almost any reason I can. At work, at home, and at play. I am my regular circle of peoples knife guy. I also have given away almost every knife I have owned except Busse/Kin, well except 1 or two to my closest bro's. Starting from thinking Kabar and CRKT were the best things ( my early years here..lol) to now settling on my go-to brands. I feel that my sig line is self explanatory, but in my personal expierence it is completely true.

This is the first time I have broken away from the good old Stockman pattern that I have carried every day for my adult life.

It's a ZT 0909 and I love it. It's a heavy duty knife for sure.

I think I've started something!

Work frowns upon 'non-approved cutting devices', so I have to go low-profile there with an SAK Classic. There are three in the weekend rotation: Caly 3, mini Ritter Grip, and a Hinderer.

Back when, I started collecting original Bertram Hen and Rooster pocket knives, the good German ones. Never counted, but maybe 60? of those. The little barlow with the ivory scales, the AG Russell CM-4, was the dress carry.

The PM2 seems to be hugely popular, have thought about getting one, but never got around to it. Plus, there is a bewildering array of variations.

It's the latest one I picked up . . . I thought to myself -- what's with all the hype --- now I totally understand!!
