What GEC pattern would you like to see?

If GEC ever made a small scout pattern - like a scaled version of their harness jack with bottle and can openers - I would buy it in a heartbeat and my other knives would get stuffed in a drawer.

Sealed (capped) bolster Dr knife. Nobody (other than custom makers) makes them anymore. The only three custom makers I know of are Joel, Richard and Ryu.

Swell center or equal end jack BUT 3-3/4" or smaller - I'd love for GEC to do more knives around the size of their Barlow.

Could you explain the capped bolster please? Thanks:thumbup:

I'm with Bastid on this, a doctor's knife would be great. Capped bolsters would be even better.

A few other things I wouldn't mind seeing:

A slimline, shadow pattern, single-bladed, wharncliffe trapper. But GEC style.
A beefy sodbuster in a variety of blade configurations. (is it still a sodbuster if it has a sheepsfoot blade?)

I'd also like to see them switch to stainless steel liners and bolsters. (hey, as long as we're dreaming!)

Oh please, please a 3 3/4" sowbelly stockman of the same quality as their larger 4 1/4" equal end (cigar) stockman that I really love!

A capped bolster is a solid-ended bolster, with a solid piece that covers the end of the knife- meant for crushing pills. This means there are no gaps for the powder to get pushed into. Most doctor's knives today have the "sandwich" bolster arrangement, like other slipjoints. I think nobody does the capped bolster anymore, because you either have to weld or mill the bolster to get it to work.

3 5/8 stockman, a small trapper both without half stops and more ebony. I don't own a GEC yet but they're on my short list.

I would like a large stockman and I would like to see the liner locks with stainless blades....

I'm with Bastid... (except on the goat thing...;)) I'd like to see a BIG Dr. pattern with spatula. I have a thing for stag handled Dr.'s with spatulae.
