First, are there any brands, styles or types that you like?

Second, I am specifically looking for some light weight work gloves. Something that will protect my hands but light enough that I can handle small items (bolts, nuts, etc). I have looked at the Iconclad line but I hear they wear out fast.

I can tell you about leather driving gloves!

Hi!

I've used the nomex gloves as used by the US Army, they don't wear that fast and gives good control and dexterity.
They are available in kevlar too and these should last longer (??)

Look here: www.uscavalry.com (direkt link to gloves: http://www.uscav.com/shop/uscitemdetail.asp?item=4&stk_code=WA6786)

Good luck

In the book "Everything I needed to know I learned in Kindergarden", the author speaks very highly of roping gloves. For some reason these are supposed to be great.

Hello, What types of gloves are you interested in?? Or rather for what purpose do you intend to use these for?? I know about leather falconry gauntlets and gloves. Some of the best are made out of kangaroo leather. And that type of leather is the strongest and lasts the longest!!
What some of the falconry equipment dealers are selling now are the shorter bull riders style glove with the stiched cuff. They are usually made out of elk leather and last pretty good also. Later, Jonathan
