I've almost sold all my other fixed blades and only buy Busses now.. however, there are a few other designs that I just can't seem to part with, and kinda wish Busse would make something along these lines. are there anyother great designs out there that you all would like to see "Bussefied" Not a copy, but the basic idea? here are some of my knives I wish were INFI
a Mercworx chili sniper and Equatorian, a great feel, and incredible recurve blade
Picture001.jpg

The Al Mar Warrior, what a fighter, actually came with a cd to show how to use it. that back edge is a killer
DSC00582.jpg

The good old SOG Vietnam style.. I swore this blade design and the Tankbuster were almost identical... "that's why I bought a bunch of them"
DSC00601.jpg

I think the Microtech Currahee is a great size knife to put on a tac vest
DSC00612.jpg

The Fox model 69 is almost like a old german trench knife, but what a great fighter design
DSC00622.jpg

neet spyderco design that screamed FUSION.. but smaller
DSC00626.jpg

the old Al Mar Bowie model B is a rare one. kinda reminds me of a M9 blade

and last but not least.. didn't Busse make a tomahawk at one time.. a great combat tomahawk in INFI would be an entry teams dream

What are some other unique designs that would be a useful starting point?

I think the Graham Razel is a great design that could benefit from INFI. And I really wish Busse would produce something in the VEX size with a gut hook. I love my Buck fixed blade Alpha hunter. I'd love it more if it was a Busse NMALPHA Hunter. That's a knife I'd get some use out of!

*edit - I know it's Busse Combat, but if Jerry can make a chef knife, he can make a dedicated hunter.

For me I think the Busse line up has some simple designs missing which would be good to see .... although the trade mark talon hole makes it difficult to do as a Busse .... maybe a special Infi run from Scrapyard or Swamp Rat .... but of all my knives .... these are ones which get perhaps the most use that are none Bussekin ....

A 5 inch scandi in 3mm stock with a high scandi grind and the edge taken close to a very comfortable handle .... this works well in the field for sharpening .... impossible to go wrong on a simple combo waterstone cut small .... and is excellent for belt knife tasks including military use as a fighter .... it is ideal in shape and size for penetrating deep enough to cover all military training with a knife. If these were made full tang with Res C rubber shaped side mounted grips you would have an excellent Bussekin blade.

I also think a stick tang and Res C grip was crying out to be done when Busse looked at the Khukri and the Zilla's ... it keeps the overall weight down for belt carry to a useful 20 oz ball park figure .... and is very comfortable .... this CS Khukri had a terrible grip with harsh checkering but taken off with a dremel and sanded smooth it is my most effective lightweight chopper .... it just pips a B11 because of the khukri design .... although both are excellent choices and whilst I would prefer the Basic 11 if I had to make a choice because of the ASM edge and the benefits of Infi .... the lighter weight of a stick tang Zilla with good forward balance chopping power is a real "Gem" waiting to happen ....

I also like the simple japanese design on a Kozuka or "utility blade" .... done in 3mm stock and being a half way house between a normal kitchen knife shape and a fillet knife shape it is excellent for food preperation with meat/fish and vegetables .... and makes for a good "game" knife too as it can skin animals very effectively and de-bone carcasses as good as any butchers knife I have used .... it has a useful 4.5 inch flat ground blade ....

My ESEE3mil needs some real competition and is my MOST used knife - good belly and the thinness is just amazing at .12" - the CABS are still too thick for my liking...

I actually have sold all my sub 4" Bussekin because I just haven found one that competes with my ESEE3 or Fehrman Peacemaker....

So I would love to see a line of smaller hunter or bushcraft knives sub 4"...

I emailed this to Mr. Busse already.

SMATCHET.

Previous maanufacturers did not have the benefit of INFI.

Please.

I wish Shane Sibert would give permission to Jerry to make this one.

I would be in heaven

Original Ratweiler in INFI. I've been asking for this for years. :)

I am with Peter here, I got really excited when I heard of Busse doing a Khukri, but I was REALLY hoping for a RES-C grip... The KZ and KZ II are pretty, but I cannot think that they would not have been better users with a RES-C grip.
Also, a Kozuka style blade would be great!
And lastly, I have fantasies of a smaller Ruck; kinda like a chopped down Waki with about 10-12" blade, tanto tip, and handle of contoured G10 (orange and black to match the rest of my collection :D ).

when I first saw the merkworx blades when they were first introduced my immediate thought was "that low of a saber grind.... on that thick of a knice..." and I still have the same reaction. Busse already has low enough sabers for how thick they tend to leave their edges, and I don't think infi does that well with a true zero edge puuko grind (not enough metal to support the edge).

I don't have any designs by other companies that I'd like to see busse re-do from other manufactuers, but I would love to see a machete type blade. So far, none of whats been produced really works like a machete, they end up being either swords (gladius) or choppers (ak47/ruck). I really, really want to see a ruck with the handle chopped down to one handled to see if it handles more like a machete. i'm not sure if it would, but I want one.

as far as what manufactures have knives I'd like to see in infi, I've liked a lot of the folder designs kershaws put out recently, mostly very simple choiless shapes.

I'd like to see a bayonet version of the DSSF.

Same blade, handle adopted for bayonet mount.

I wish Jerry would get together with the fine fellows at ESEE and work out a Busse/Izula collaboration. Basically a direct copy of the Izula in satin INFI.

Not exactly the same, but you can get Swamp Wardens and even Skeleton Wardens "satinized". Here's a Satin Swamp Warden pic Norcalblacktail did for Stumpbuster I think:
