for my Speedsafe spring? I cleaned up my Ti Cyclone, lubed everything, put it back together. Now it makes this "creeking" noise when i close it. I know that is the spring rubbing the titanium. I failed to use greese enough in the recess where the spring lies. (used just a tiny bit)

??I have teflon greese(Chris Reeve)??

gw, any type of grease will work...well, I wouldn't try bacon grease, but you get my drift...I use a moly based auto grease.

I used full synthetic grease from an automotive store. It's pink and it's awesome. Great lube, doesn't breakdown and stays where you put it.

Give it a try.

I was recently asked what I use on my blades when storing, but this
product will work great for lubrication of the Speedsafe mech

"Superlube is my preferred choice. Never a problem with it either.
The grease style. Aerosol is good for rifle barrels and stocks.

Click on Catalog at the top for a .pdf of their products.
I've been using their product since the late 80's.
Quote from their cat "Does not run, drip, evaporate, or form gummy deposits and will not melt or separate.""

You can find it at sporting goods stores, auto parts stores etc...

I second that, Super Lube synthetic grease is the best lube IMO. I use it on my Speed Bump. Petroleum based greases are messy (ie. White lithium or bearing grease) and have an odor. Ace hardware stores carry Super Lube. Also the pen oiler with PTFE is great for the pivots and spacer washers as well.

Will re-lubing the insides speed-up the system if it has been previously sluggish? Mine is stil quite slow even after polishing things up

I believe too thick of a grease will make it sluggish.
I haven't had a bit of trouble with Superlube.

I tried that with my girlfriend once. While it did make the slow one faster, it unfortunately also made the faster one faster! so in the end I guess it all works out. :D

it should do what you're asking.

+1 for Super Lube Grease for the SpeedSafe torsion bar and cavity...

I even use Super Lube Grease for leather sheath maintenance...normally you wouldn't want to rub petroleum-based products into your leather, but a small quantity of synthetic Super Lube Grease with PTFE rubbed into my sheaths (sometimes takes awhile to be absorbed) keeps my sheaths in tip-top shape. ;)

+1 for TUF-GLIDE for the pivot area and other moving parts like Stud locks, etc. of folders along with overall blade protection for fixed-blades or folders...

Ray :)

I highly recomend Hi-Slip grease By Sentry Solutions. I used to mix my own grease but have since switched to this stuff . It works great!
