What is a good grit size for glass bead blasting ats-34 and titanium?I'm new at it,so any help is appreciated.Thanks.

It depends on the finish you want... I have 2 blasting cabinets, one with Silicon Carbide media, and one with glass bead. If I want a dark gray dull finish I use the agressive Silicon Carbide stuff. If I want a satin look I use glass bead. Silicon Carbide is kinda spendy, and you would probably be fine with aluminum oxide media for a inexpensive aggressive media..Hope this helpa ya.

I use 80 grit ceramic in my cabinet, I'd prefer a finer grit but that's all that is locally available. Gun Kote recommends 140 AO for the GK finish.

I just got my blast cabinet setup this evening. I too have #8 or 80 glass beads. I tried it out on a kitchen knife. Works real slick.

Way to go Roger! You guys are going to like blasting the finish on your knives, I'm getting to where that's all I want to do... So I just beadblast everything!
