How do I A get a edge that polished? Would 1k 6k and green rouge strop be enough? Does a buffing wheel sharpen the blade or does it work like in aggresiveness between a 10k stone and green rouge? (can I go to the buffing wheel instead of a sanding belt or stone to prolong the edge life).

B. How do I sharpen a convex edge, mostly how do I thin out the shoulders? Im in no mans land and cant tell where im removing the edge. Say I start with a regular V grind, do I put a high angle 40 degree edge then, lift the edge off stone to a slighly lower angle?

You can get a leather stopping belt and it will polish it . The important thing is removing the deeper scratch patterns or your higher grits won't polish to a mirror .

Once you get it polished a few passes on a loaded leather sanding belt will keep it sharp.

I see a wheel called a paper wheel is that inbetween sanding belt and a buffing wheel? How would it compare to a very fine sanding belt or would you not need use a sanding belt for regular sharpening and the paper wheel instead?

Appreciate the responses so far.
