What handle colors would you like to see as options?

I recently added Blue G10 and White G10 as a handle option. Today I added a "Marksman" with Red G10to my website (gallery 6).

My question is, What colors would you like to see as an option on knives? Factory, or custom knives doesn't matter. I want to hear all of you opinions. Do you own knives with different colors?

Thanks for your input,

I love the appearance of contoured Micarta, especially in maroon (I think you already offer this on some of your knives). I've recently seen some handles in tan and olive Micarta that also look great. Any alternatives to basic black are always appreciated!

I saw a knife a few weeks ago with Jade Micarta handles that was an attractive piece.

I also like the Gold Carbon fiber they put on the Klotzli Walker.

I have a knife with red linen Micarta.I've seen yellow G-10 in slab form.I'd like to see differant shades of blue, like royal blue.I'm game for any color as long as it ain't black.

I'd like to see blank.
I'd like to see a stop to the relentless plugging of your knives and website.

Jeez, Tom, don't you think you were a little harsh? IIRC, most if not all of the other makers put their website in their signature. It seems that he WAS asking a valid question.

FWIW, the only color I would consider is green, and that for my daughter, DarkMistress, as it is her favorite color.

Valid question?
No way it's just another of the continuing series if self promoting his knives. I need a name. Is my site working alright? do you like micarta? Is pink a good color? enough is enough There is a difference between valid questions and knife spam.

Well I have a young daughter and I would like to see more Pink handled knives. You hardly ever see them (I wonder why?). I never even gave a second look at a pink knife until she came along. I would like to start her a little collection.

TomW, I can see your point. I have seen a couple of the "what do you think of this" threads turn into "okay, just drop an email and we'll get you set up with your custom knife options" (unless I am misunderstanding, of course). OTOH, if you know that is the content of most of Lynn's posts on the general forum, then just don't bother reading them! Simple solution! The people who run the forums obviously don't think Lynn is stepping out of bounds, and it's their call, not ours.
I think Lynn is being smart and gaining general opinion before he invests in materials, styles, etc. If he knows they will probably be a big hit to begin with, them he's one step ahead of the guy that fails to learn about his market. Market education (or lack of it) is one of the main reasons businesses fail, so I think Lynn is being pretty savvy.
Bladeforums has two types of people on it when it comes to knifemakers. The first are newbies who have to promote their own stuff. I fall into this category, I think Lynn does too, and there are others. After a while, less self-promotion occurs and more customers start reviewing the products, saying nice things, etc, and before you know it voila! You have mail!
I have had half a dozen sheath inquiries in the last week and I have simmered down a lot on the promoting I do of my own business. Go figure. In any case, Lynn hasn't overstepped the boundaries, and if his posts serve to reel in customers, then that's fine, too, because I hear he has a great reputation for making sweet knives.
Lynn, if you're reading this, too, I need to get with you and see what the possibilities are of having a MNK sent to me for a small fixed blade test I am doing. I'll send the knife back, too, of course when testing is done (unless I decide to buy it!

Now, on to the answer to the question of material colors... for synthetics, you obviously have to have the black and white covered. Blue is a good addition, too. Maroon micarta is gorgeous stuff, and I am experimenting with some rag Micarta that at this point in the game could go either way.
Carbon fiber is a good choice, too. I think you should add tan canvas Micarta to the list, as it looks like an old Fender tweed amp covering, which is way cool!

Getting some wood in for people who like the knives but aren't fans of synthetics would be smart, too.

I like the looks of that Rag Micarta. I've seen knives with it and it looks different. I don't know where to get it though.
Neil,
I agree, Rag Micarta looks very cool. To the best of my knowledge, it is no longer made. I would love to get my hands on some though.

PINK- I just threw pink into the post in the middle of a rant but Gene, since you asked , pink isn't used because it's a loser. No intelligent manufacturer uses pink in an attempt to attract women because it's offensive to todays women and has almost always been a loser in the past. There are some exceptions but it isn't common.
LYNN stop exploiting the forums and knife collectors list for your own purposes.
Do I have to go through this list of sometimes very lame excuses you used to get your name in the spotlight over the past few months? I'd like to see you succeed in the knife business but your tactics suck. Give it a rest.

Lynn,
You and I seem to be the only custom knife makers that offer the, Goodyear soft-grip, Neoprene for handle material. Black is the basic color, however they offer it in Tan. See my model #30 Slim-Blade Hunter. Unfortunately, our supplier does not carry a tan Micarta rod for pinning the handle. For customers that want a strong knife, with a secure grip, Neoprene is the answer. However, if they are tired of everything being offered in basic Black, then the Tan might be an option to consider.

On the question of spaming the Forms pages, with trivial quires about your business. I say, "Bah Humbug" to those that feel imposed upon for their opinions. I wish that I could have had an eager, opinionated, Well-In-Formed, test group like these, when I first started out. I for one enjoy your posts about your knives, it lets me know that you are trying to stay on the forefront of new technology and customer preferences. Keep up the good work, and the posts.
Best Regards,

Jay,
Thank you. You are correct. I must admit, I have become addicted to the knowledge that is shared on this forum. I feel like I have my finger on the pulse of the knife world by being here. I love knowing what people think about differnet knife related issues. I check the forums on every break I take during the day. I have loved knives my whole life. Until meeting my wife, there was nothing that interested me more than knives. I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined there were so many others that loved knives, the same way I do. This place is awesome. Over the past months, I have developed some great friends, as a result of this site. Every time I want to try something different, I ask here first. Every time I do something new, I ask for the opinions of those here. Why would I do that? Because the people here know the answers. Because the people here are interested (for the most part). Because I have friends here, and this is the easiest way for me to share my excitement with my friends.

Thank you Jay, and thank you to all my friends, on the forums

Hello All,

I really like the fact that a knifemaker takes the time to consider other people's opinions. This is something that has really made BF great. It is also the reason I visit this site twice a day.

To TomW-- U do know that Spyderco release the pink ladybuy and Case knive have some of their knives made with Bubblegum bone that is pink color. These knives are original and are highly collectable.

Lynn, I wanted to contact you about a knife I would like you to make. Just a variation of design. I will email you.
Thanks

Liong
