I'm looking to get a CRK Damascus knife next. Will be my first. And I'm undecided as to which handle to get with it.

I thought I would ask your preferences!!

Thx!

I only voted for micarta because it's my favorite inlay.
Any of the choices are great.

I never had a plain Ti with Damascus ( though I have always wanted one ) and never had a micarta in any configuration. I have though had many Inlay and Unique Graphics with Damascus.

i like CCG's but think that one with a Damascus blade would be too fancy for daily carry.

I really prefer the look of the plain elegant looking TI handle. I recently purchased a Box Elder 21, and although I want at least one Woodie in my collection, the wood on metal nearly looks like an unwanted intrusion on the purity of that smooth titanium finish.

Sure I'm a minority in this opinion. Perhaps a subtle handle design or UG would be the way to go. But your choice ,Sir. When faced with similar circumstances, I compare finishes using Google Images, or many of the fine photos here on BF. Good Luck!

I voted for CGG because I'm assuming you're lumping UG / CGG together. UG Damascus is the way to go in my mind, but there are some cool CGG ones as well.

Micarta is the only inlay I really love. The blasted lockbar erks me hard on polished, wood inlay handles. Don't think I'll ever get past it. :barf:

I voted plain TI. Mainly because I have one on order direct from CRK and I am dying waiting for it. 2 months left to go from what they tell me. Going to be a user....can't wait.

I really like the look of the graphic handles with the Damascus blades! I have had a couple of wood inlay/Damascus knives and they were nice but the look of the graphics with damascus is tough to beat IMO:thumbup:

This pic makes me realize that, while I normally want my UG's to have color, I like damascus better on non-anodized UG's...

(not my pic, but my knife)

Really hard to tell. I always loved the wood inlays in combination with damascus. Mammoth of course too.

21, Large, Damascus Woodies, 02

Graphics in combination with damascus blades always contain the risk that one of them, handle or blade is stealing the show of the other one, if you know what I mean. On the other hand, a damascus blade always makes it the most exclusive version of a model.

21, UG Night Sky, Basket Weave, 11

Whereas with a plain Jane with damascus blade there is no question where the attention is paid to. The reduced appearance of the plain ti scales in combination with a damacus blade is really something I do enjoy.

21, Plain Titanium, Dot Matrix, 08

I am not voting, because I like all of them :-) and because this is decision you have to take by your personal taste and not through other peoples opinion via a poll. Just my 2 cent.

This is one I ordered, coming home soon,UG with damascus.Would vote for this but no option :) here.
