I have been caught up in other hobby’s but have recently been drawn back to this forum. I see that the market is flooded with higher end Chinese WE and Reate folders. They look beautiful but not for me.
My big question is what happened to Brad Southards performance knives? I would have thought he would have a strong presence, but after the AVO and Tolk I don’t see a thing.

Yeah, it's a bit of a mystery. I think he's had some personal or family stuff that has limited how much he's produced the last few years or something. Occasionally he has small drops of the Mini-Tolk and I think he's still putting out customs (God only knows how far out his books on those are), so I know he's still working. Just not as much presence on social media as some other makers who do similar scale knifemaking like Koenig and Holt.

Now that you mention it, it is weird that he hasn't made more. They were pretty popular when they came out. Could be that he's in between production runs or working on the next design.

Are there any plans to offer the Mini Tolk again with the preorder form on the southardknives webside? What do you think?

Not sure. He hasn't been active on Instagram since April, when he came back from a long break (according to a post there).

I hope he is able to resume larger scale production soon. The Mini Tolk is my favorite EDC by a mile. It’s just perfect. Even when comparing side by side with other high end knives of similar specs (shiro neon zero).

I agree, though I haven't owned one of the minis. I had one of the first run of full size Tolks and it was exceptional, but I moved it along in order to pick up one of his custom pieces.
