What happened to 13c26?

I've got a Vantage in Sandvik 13c26 and I really like it. I finish it out with a 3000 grit synthetic ruby stone followed by a light stropping and it gets ridiculously sharp. I mean, shaving sharp with no detectable resistance. It holds it fairly well, too.

I'd buy a couple 110s in 13c26 if offered in the custom shop.

Are we too hung up on CPM steel to ever see it again?

it's was started as a razor blade steel and is bascially the same as aebl....

good read on it.

an improved in some areas version is 14c28n, which has become popular in chinese brand made knives lately and of course kershaw used it first and still does a bit......

I'd like to see more use of 13c26 or aebl or even 14c28n by Buck......

but i dont think the bulk of Bucks core buyers and users really understand the steel or pay any attention to it, and so it hasn't been very popular with Buck fans......

Also 13c Rusts fairly easily.

I like all the sandvik steels they seem very easy to sharpen and have good edge retention but I think they are moving to the wayside for higher end steels that are now becoming budget like s35vn or 154cm.

it is a stainless steel, but yeah like aus8... rust spots pretty easily....

14c28n improves on its corrosion resistance.
