What happened to Benchmade's titanium knives?

I recently have been on a titanium kick, and I've gotten my hands on a few of the titanium knives that Benchmade has put out in the past few years. I have the 630, 760, and the 790; and I love them all and they are perfect in every way... they have no blade play, they deploy super smooth, and the titanium is just beautiful on these knives. How come they stopped making knives with titanium handles?

They simply weren't selling, is my guess. The Bradley Alias I and II are also produced by Benchmade and I believe are still in production. They are just as good as the others you named.

I have the HK Conspiracy. Picked it up last year and its still in production. Ti Frame Lock and a beast of a knife. I wouldn't put it in the same class as a Benchmade proper but it's still a BM and for a knife in the "Budget" line very impressive.

Excellent F&F, smooth sound blade deployment with rock solid lock up. No corners cut in making it other then it has what could be considered a lessor or non premium steel (9CR13) but still decent. I think its an excellent knife for the price.

Hey PBCG did you read any threads about the Conspiracy before you picked it up?

Also, do you feel it's a good buy at $70?

When I got the Conspiracy it was still relatively new. I honestly don't recall what I read about it exactly but I know I did read some reviews and they were positive.

As far as your question about value I'd say yes but look around as I got it for less then $70.

On the plus side:

Stout G10 handle w/ Titanium Monolock.
Thick 9CR13 blade that's 3.60" long & 0.180" thick. Beast of a blade and BM says at 58-60 HRC.
The lockup is rock solid with sound smooth deployment.
The ergo's are subjective like any knife. Fit's my hand well and I find the grip comfortable.
The F&F on the one I have is top notch. Can't find any flaws except the blade is ever so slightly off center but hardly close to rubbing. Other then that all else is fine.

Overall I'd say it's a very good quality knife. Now here's the honest truth. I haven't used it at all so I can't say beyond my initial inspection how well it holds up from personal experience. All indicators are its a solid tank of a knife but unless I've used it I can't say.

I feel comfortable enough to recommend it based on obvious quality but I really wish I could give you more detail from having put it threw it's paces. I think the only reason I haven't gotten around to carrying it is I generally prefer a longer blade. No other reason.

Wish I could be more helpful but I hope this answers some of your questions. Think of anything else let me know and I'll try and answer your question.

All the best!

Perfect, sounds like a little longer than most of my current options (Mini Grip now that she took a shine to my 710, Nagara, and that's it) and a little shorter than the 710 I hope to buy back from my lady at some point. Stout, beefy, heavy, and so different from my other knives, I think it'll be a good fit. $70 includes shipping, which from this company is very quick.

So different is right! lol...

A different animal indeed but a solid brute of a knife. I've had very positive experiences with BM / HK 9CR13 steel. Takes and holds a very sharp edge for a decent amount of time. No complaints with it at all.

Well, good luck and when you get it make sure to report back on what you think. From the sound of it I think you will be pretty happy with it. Just be prepared for a tank disguised as a knife. The blade really is very thick & stout and confidence inspiring.

Best of luck!

I wish they would rerelease the 750 Pinnacle but with dual thumb studs and maybe an inlay or overlay like the gold class but as lower priced with standard steel like a s30v or 154cm blade.
