What happened to Mike Obenauf (custom knife maker)

Hi guys
I got one of his beautiful custom damascus frame locks years ago used from the knife celler. Since then I have not seen new work from him on knife websites. Is he still around?

A would appreciate any info about him. Its sad to see good knife makers just disappear.

As far as I remember he stopped making knives. For the life of me I can't remember all of it, but I think there were some personal issues and some problems getting knives out. Don't know much more than that.
