Hey guys I've been out of the loop for a couple months. I was just wondering what happened with the law that the border patrol was trying to put into place so that any one handed opener would be illegal?

It wasn't a law. It was a ruling. The BP can't make laws.

Congratulations guys. One less stupid law or ruling to interfeare knife lovers... Besides that would have not affected anyone but those legal knife owners.

I was rightly killed.

Not exactly, at least not yet.

Customs has stepped back, based on our success at getting an amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill passed in the Senate. They are waiting to see if we can get it through conference committee. If we are not able to accomplish that, they are free to go at us again. Whether they would chose to do so after all the ruckus we raised and given the assurance that we'd be back with a new legislative solution as soon as possible, is a question with no concrete answer. We'd just as soon not have to go there, hence our continued efforts to get our amendment through Conference Committee. Latest news can always be found at www.KnifeRights.org

Anyway to get rid of the person who came up with this interpretation?

These things just don't come from nowhere.

No. Bureaucrat in Customs & Border Protection "just doing their job." :barf: OTOH, we do believe we made a very strong impression on them. So, perhaps they will have second thoughts next time, maybe...

Thanks for the answers guys and thanks to everyone that has done so much work so we can all keep our knives. It is greatly appreciated.
