I just read that he was no longer making swords due to illness or some kind of injury. Anybody have any details on this?

Thanks-
Cam

Yea, he's not able to grind anymore. :(

I know where you can find one of the very last wakizashis though. EMail me for the info.

Is he seeking any kind of treatment?

I know where you can find one of the very last wakizashis though.

I have a considerable collection of Rob's stuff including 4 custom pieces he did for me (email if you want to see a pic). Last time I talked to him he was planning on being at Blade this year and I noticed he wasn't there.

I used to have carpal tunnel really bad from playing drums. Hopefully he can overcome it. The knife/sword world needs Rob!!!

If he reads this forum or someone has a "in" with him, tell him to look into Low Level Laser Therapy (aka cold lasers) in addition to chiropractic for the CTS. The use of lasers is becoming a very hot topic (haha) in "occupational medicine" these days. Use of it for things like CTS, along with chiropractic care (which works good for CTS as is) is extremely promising. GM did a very large CTS study using cold lasers and they were floored. Recovery was something like 70%+ better with the cold laser added to the regimen. Google should show the study. Anyway, best of luck to him, and definitely try the methods I mentioned before surgery because there is no going back from it, so he may as well try everything non-invasive/conservative first.

I have it bi-laterally and it is severe. Can't do printing anymore. I had surgery on the left wrist and did not help at all. Pain is quite severe at times depending on what I am doing. I used to have a right hand grip strength of 160 lbs per inch before it was severe. Now it is around 25 lbs per inch. That is on a good day too. My left hand still looks like a balloon kind of. Been 4 yrs since the surgery.

The deal is once it is detected you should treat it and not put it off. I put it off for years just cause of work. Didn't matter anyways as I was laid off after 20 yrs anyhow. Hope he makes out alright,. keepem sharp

Back when I was suffering from it I read an article in a drumming magazine about surgery and the pros and cons. Surgery is always a last resort. They had a few doctors in the mag suggesting treatment with vitamins B5 and B6, 100 mg a day. I did that and it helped me tremendously. No more problems at all.

Peace-
Cam
