I was looking in the custom shop section. Was fooling around building different 110s. I noticed the ram horn scales option was gone. What happened to them? The ram horn was there earlier on in the week. Now it's gone. Was actually debating on getting a second rams horn knife. Looks like thats might not happen now. Good thing I got a rams horn knife when I did.

I noticed it aswell been saving up for a 110 or 112 with rams horn  maybe its a glitch.

Obvious answer: Stumps, your friend and mine, cornered the market on horn, stag & Koa for his purposes leaving all other knife makers out in the chilly, windy Winter cold. Have you seen his pending work? It could happed. Yup, it could. :D

The Stag for the 110 is gone aswell..
What is going on here

My funds are incoming, now what will I do.

I could swear it was still there when I looked earlier, but it's gone now???

Wonder if they were updating the website today?

I have seen a few Koa build outs offered for sale at a polpular auction site from a reputable Buck dealer recently. I'm guessing they are discontinuing it.

I've never even considered Koa wood as an option. Never. The name sounds better than appearance to my sore eyes. If the wood, once stabilized, looked anything like a flame then make a path. But I haven't seen Koa look that way.

Knife of the reputable dealer, located in Post Falls, Idaho + Koa tree in Hawaii + sawn Koa tree (http://www.sierraclubhawaii.com/koa-forest-policy.php link to Koa info, 10% remains):

Not so cool....Same happened with some "build out" knives at the BCCI 25TH....

Some have advantages and some do not. Agreed. Sounds like you have mad squabbles.

I am a member of BCCI. I attended the 25th. What was the problem with build-outs at the 25th?

How about you explain the problem so that we can all begin to understand it and possibly even begin to work on it.

Will buck be adding any scales options to the custom shop to replace the ones that where taken away? Or will the ones that are there be it?

Folks,

Just playing the old timer role here (if 61 is old) but asking open ended questions for someone with lots of insider knowledge at this time is going to be frustrating for you. Most of those questions in the past, were actually answered by someone who reads the forum but works at Buck. With Mr. Bucks death lots of work likely went by the wayside for a couple of days and the Buck folks are trying to catch up and get their feet under them. Usually someone from Buck will answer most "only the factory would know" questions, at least the ones that have concrete answers. Give'em a week or two and then ask your questions again.

My direct answer is if you have a burning question that just won't let you sleep at night, call the Buck store and ask the question. You will likely have your question checked and you will receive a personal email from someone at the factory giving you your answer.

All of the KOA i've seen looks great. Some better than others. I hope Buck keeps it around for the future.
