What happened to this 112?

Geeez...I wouldn't have known that knife was a Buck 112 if the "dot 112 dot" wasn't on the blade! I'm pretty sure that the warranty department would set their eyes on that knife, laugh for a long time, and send it back with a note saying "Owner/User-sponsored abuse."

I may be wrong, but it appears to me that the Buck blade has been placed in a non-Buck frame. I say that because the spine of the handle seems to have more of a radius than would be possible with a real 112 frame.

I'm gonna agree, and say a "cobblers special" or parts knife, using a 112 blade and homemade frame.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.....

I'd much prefer a nice traditional 112, but that's just my opinion.

For sure,,,, looks like someone was playing with this one.

I would be embarrasssed to even send this one to the warrnaty guys,,,, unless I was doing it as a joke. :) hummmm...... maybe along with a note that says that Joe Houser said they could fix it. ;)

howdy bill,
if you look closely you can see that it is a 112 frame! all the elements that were not taken away are there ....
there were "worse" custommizzzzed frames left the "el" plant... however the blade is still worth putting in one good frame with a bad looking blade mix and match you know...
