Did a company like SMKW go bonkers with 385 variations in the 2007/2008 timeframe? I see a lot of different ones and I am curious how many actually were made. Here is what I've seen:
1) Amber jigged bone
2) Some kind of tiger's eye - like acrylic (what was this supposed to be called?) [I'm attaching a photo]
3) Stag
4) Black pearl
5) Red bone
6) Green bone
7) Blue bone
8) Pink bone
9) Yellow bone

Here are a few more I found after I posted this:
10) Tortoise
11) Rosewood
12) Yellow Pearl
13) Pearl

Were these stand-alone variations or were they part of sets with other slipjoints?

I've also seen customs of this knife. Although I have nothing against the Toothpick, it seems odd that Yellowhorse or other customizers would use such an inexpensive Chinese knife in their customs.

BTW. I am not referring to the later variations like Emerald, Glacier Blue, etc. that were done years later. I wish there were a database of old SMKW catalogs one could peruse.

I am also not talking about the variations seen in combo gift tin sets, of which many of you know I collect. Those are also done in later years.

Also, I am looking for the yellow, blue and red ones, if one wants to oblige.

I'll pose this question on FB too, and report if anyone responds.

The problem with dealer exclusives is they don't always show on the SP lists.
Like you I've wished for a source of older SMKW catalogs.
Concerning the Yellowhorse ChinaBucks, always thought it seemed a waste on a cheap knife.
One of my sub collections are the ChinaBuck slippies.
I think the 389's have the most variations followed by the 382 and 385.

I figured, from previous posts, that you might know. Did SMKW commission a bunch of 385s in 2007/2008 because they were introduced new at that time. And which variations do you have or are aware of? I like 389s the best, btw.
