What happened

No tickie, no laundry. KTF was Rhett Stidham's forum; Rhett recently passed away, his lovely bride Janie recently folded the Randall Knife Society (RKS) as she had no interest in running it - I'd imagine that sentiment held true for KTF as well.

That said, the Randall Made Knives (RMK) forum at Bladeforums.com (BFC) is open for business - and as the Moderator here, I say welcome to all. Be nice, be polite, stick around, and have fun.

Guess we have a new home.

How's this for a start to build up our Pix files here??

DR, sweet #14! If you want to start a 'Model of the Week' thread for each of the models, go ahead and I'll sticky it. Dealer Specials, miniatures, club knives, counterfeits, commemoratives, non-catalog models, sheaths, etc. too. Have fun. :)

If anyone does start such a thread, please do a separate thread for each of the model 12s. It always struck me as pretty spastic to have six different models lumped together in the same thread. Ditto for the 4-6 Fighter - that's not a model 4 by anybody's definition (well, except RMK's, of course).

I went to KnifeTalk earlier in the day yesterday a few times and then later, it was shut down. Nothing was mentioned that I saw on there earlier before it just closed up. There had been discussion about how KnifeTalk was separate from RKS and would continue, until it didn't.

What a loss of valuable reference information.

Now that this forum is all we have left, I agree it should be built up the way the other one was. I totally agree with Samael about having each individual knife model of the 12's as a separate thread. They are all different from each other. Non-Catalog models, like the 4-6-F, should be separate too.

I look forward to the expansion of this forum to get my Randall Made Knives fix.

What happened to knifetalk forums ? Just went there and a message say closed.

Rick Bowles posted this on knifenetwork.com:

"Yesterday knifetalkforums went the way of the Randall Knife Society and was terminated. A scant seventy days after I delivered the eulogy at Rhett Stidham's memorial service, both of the organizations he founded and for which he worked so diligently have been closed. It is my opinion this was done in a most cowardly fashion without notice or explanation to the members. Though I found out Monday morning that this was eminent, I could not alert the board as I was permanently banned early in the day without cause or notice.
I may feel compelled at a later date to relate the whole story but for now the reasons can be boiled down to grief and greed.
A great deal of valuable information and images are now irretrievable from the archives but they are not lost. The knowledgeable folks that contributed daily are still envolved."

Hey Steve, thanks for the heads up! Glad to hear the KTF members have found a new home... :)

I for one, certainly hope that most of the people who wrote in the posts I read on the RKS site make their way over here to contribute. I devoured the pictures and read everything of interest I did find. I am sorry it appears to be lost.

I have been thinking of all the people the knife community has lost recently. I continue to send smoke up for those grieving.

Who's this Rick Turbeville guy? Anybody know him?

Anyway, I'm happy they're back.
