Well, some of it can be related back to your friends.....

Maggie and I were in Vegas for the past week for the NDA Team Dart tournament, which we do every year.

Maggie and I tried some new places to eat; Wolfgang Pucks at the MGM Grand (very good!), Canes Chicken Fingers and finally the SW Steakhouse Lakeside at the Wynn.

The SW Steakhouse was the best food and service we have ever experienced.

I was surprised when they set a Shun Damascus clad steak knife in front of me for use on my steak!!

That is a classy place!

I will be adding to the following page as I have time, but it shows some of the places we like to eat for now -

Glad to be back home.

I wish I'd known you were going. I would have recommended Nine Fine Irishmen in New York New York.
Looks like you had enough fun though.

can't wait to see more, me and my wife had a great time when we went, must have been 5 years ago now.

Tell me there wasn't a small part of you that wanted to snag that sweet steak knife. I would've been tempted but morals would get the best of me as I'm sure they did you. That seems like a really nice joint. Have fun. Keep us posted

Hi Jeff -

I played in three events - 01 doubles, cricket doubles, and senior singles combo (both o1 and cricket)

I play in level 1 (highest averages outside of masters) for the 01 and senior events, and we are in level 2 this year in cricket doubles.

We took 7th place in 01 - worse than last year. My partner, who is a better cricket player than I am, also played in a singles cricket event the evening after we played all day in 01 doubles, so the next morning for cricket he was beat and his arm was a noodle. I took a couple of games, but the competition was too much and we did not even place in the money.

The next day for the Seniors event, I played strong, averaging over 31ppd for all of my o1 games. You have to hit two bulls every round to even be competitive in level 1. It was cricket that let me down.

However, I learned that the fellow that put me in the losers bracket (and who I came within one round of beating) took first place, and the fellow who knocked me out of the losers bracket took third.

I will be competitive in this event, and had I not run into the two big dogs in early rounds, I am confident that I would have been in the money.

It is very hard in any level at Vegas, let alone in level 1 - you have to really be playing your top game.

This year was disappointing in result, but the good things were that my training this year allowed me to play and my arm was not sore and I was still on my game even in the later rounds. My 01 game was much better, I was happy with the results there - I can only remember one game where I did not shoot over 30ppd.

I did not take as many pictures this year of the dart area in Bally's, but for those who are not aware, they have over 300 boards set up and people come from all over the world to play at this tournament.

For the interested - you can go to www.iammoon.com/albums and search for vegas to see this year and previous years pictures.

At least it sounds like you had a good time. We were in Vegas back in 2002, loved it!

We always do have fun. Once the dart playing is over, Maggie and I always have a rental car and see the sights off of the strip. There is a lot to see and do, but we generally like to find great places to eat and shop.

Allegiant Air has every year added additional inconvenience to the trip, this year being a 40 lb weight restriction for each check in bag, with a $100 penalty for overage! Additionally, they are now charging $40 or something for a carry on bag.

This made us have to weigh our bags at home. Maggies bag alone weighed 17 lbs empty. Luckily, my bag is very light in comparison, and my needs are much less, so we were able to make mine 39 lbs and hers 40 lbs for the trip out.

The trip back, we mailed two USPS large flat rate packages out from the post office in vegas - it was still a ton cheaper than paying $100 to Allegiant.

Vegas is a fun place - there is always something new, and the strip is not the only place in town.
