In knife stores there is always a display knife, usually with no cutting edge and "display" lazer cut into the blade. What happens to these? It would hard to put a good edge on one because it is like starting from scratch, but if I could pick one up for cheep then it might be worth it to try!

I have been to several knife shops and have never seen one. I wonder if the ones you saw were special made by/for that shop..?..

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.

Ya, at SMKW I saw a Cuda and at Jays Sporting Goods there were a whole bunch!

A couple of years ago I lucked into a Gart's store closeout, they were moving to a new store, and they were pulling SAK's off of a board (attached with double stick tape) and got a Soldier model with the hollow rivet in the handle for a lanyard. The date on the blade was "91" so it was over 8 years old but got it for about $10. I said I wanted the knife but, "I don't like the sticky stuff on the handle," so the guy dropped the price. When I got it home, the sticky stuff came right off with WD-40! Sometimes you just get a deal!
