What happens when you review an HI knife?

Naturally it would be just about impossible to avoid ever mentioning another manufacturers knife here, but reviews, including comparison reviews, belong in Reviews & Testing.

OK, that does make sense. I understand, and apples vs. oranges (or even other apples!) do belong over there. Mentioning another maker in the wrong context could lead to bad feeling and wouldn't bode well for either side.

However, as Cougar mentioned above, even regular reviews. Then the next time I mention any of the performance characteristics of an HI knife I will do it over there and include a link to it? All reviews should be in the review section I would think.

In light of this I would expect to see Munk's reviews of the Jungle knife and the 18" Antler BDC, along with Nasty's review of the new Stick knife, my review of the D-handle, Steve's review of the Patang, and Dave's review of the 40" AK moved to the Reviews section, correct?

Thanks for clarifying.

i was kind of wondering that myself, Norm. I understand that if I wanted to do a Stampian review with several knives, then the R&T forum is where it goes. However, what about the regular HI reviews? If they have to go over in the R&T, then i probably won't write up many reviews. This mainly has to do with the fact that I am not comfortable sharing the stuff i share here with the rest of the BF population. Nothing against them. I know that most of them are wonderful people just like the folks here at the Cantina. However, i feel lot more secure just laying it out here.
Most of my "reviews" are nothing more than how the knife makes me feel, how it handles, how the edge is straight or if you can see hammer marks. It's mroe of a reflection of what the knife does to me, than what the knife does or how perfect it is. I guess I just can't stand a passing n00b making some idiotic little post about my knife when I just spent 35 mins writing up a review. Yet another character flaw on my part, I know.
<sigh> I know i'm a stick in the mud, but by God i really enjoyed the status quo.

I have never visited any forum here besides HI and Spyderco. It was my question about what khukuri to buy that I posted over a year ago in KF and Nasty (IIRC) replied me there and directed me here. I am happy here and really safe too.
It was some time ago that a czech Spyderco fan girl who posted many nice photos in S. forum had to give up her presence in BF, because she dared to post something personal in "Whine and Cheese". She experienced lot of personal attacks there and gave up. She also closed her website after that.
Hey, I feel safe here.

I understand that what I post here is also available to the thousands who visit the others parts of Bladeforums. I also understand that what I post here is available to the millions of other internet users that *could* wander in here. Nothing is private...regardless of which forum it is posted in.

I won't have any problem moving any review if that is what I am given as direction...including my own. Policies change, get emphasized, evolve as needed and demand dictates. Life is all about change...

Cosco...yes, I infected you. :) Nice to see it take so well too I might add! ;)

Tell you what, Steve...

Just go on as you have been going....

If policies change, or problems arise...then we can modify behavior.

For the time being, it sure seems like the Forum and the Cantina have been looked over...and not found wanting. Cougar visits often, as do other mods.

I think we're fine.

I KNOW you're fine.

My take on this is based upon the word, 'another' manufacturer. Cougar is telling us not to review blades other than HI here. He is saying even if it is a comparison review, with an HI blade and a blade from another source, it should be in the review forum.
