What has 5 speeds, 4 cylinders, 5 doors, and 4 wheels?

Congratulations, my Mom gave me my first car, it was a 1968 Dodge Coronet Convertible, I loved that car.

The closest pic I could find was a 66 dodge.

Congrats!! That's one of life's great milestones. Our neighbors recently gave their daughter a car when she turned 16. We've known her since she was 8 and it really makes me feel old (I'm only 42 :( ) when I see her get behind the wheel. Anyway, congrats, be safe and enjoy!! ;)

... so I feel very comfortable with a car that I've known for almost 2/3 of my life

Ugh, generation gap for real :( But on more serious note: good luck with your car !!! Remember to always fasten your seatbelt and don't let any of your buddies talk you into doing any stupid things with it.

Some stupid things my friends talked me into doing with my cars.

1) Tried to drive across the claypits in my neck of the woods, result: sank the car up to the axles about 300 feet into the pits, conclusion: $350 tow bill.

2) Drive my jeep up a hill alongside the RR tracks, result: got to the top only to find out there was no other side, drove, make that flew off a 35 foot sheer cliff, rolled and landed on the roof, no seatbelts, luckily we weren't seriously hurt, conclusion: totaled a wicked Jeep(1962 Willies Jeep with a Buick Turbo V-6 with Dick Cepeck Dessert Dogs on the wheels) also got the crap beat out of me by my 4' 10" 95 lb mother :o .

3) Tried to fill the back of my pickup truck bed with empty beer cans and bottles, result: after filling the truck bed up 3/4 of the way up half way through the summer, Jersey instituted it's open container law and I got stopped by a cop, conclusion: luckily he let us go but he could have made a hell of a catch, I believe the fine back then in the early 70's was $200 or $300 per open container.

My advice, don't ever drink and drive, alcohol was a major factor in all my stupid car decisions back then, and don't ever let your friends talk you into anything when it comes to your car, cause when the time comes to pay for the damage, most likely you'll be on your own.

Other than that, put on your seatbelt, turn on some good tunes and cruise.

Amen.

And congrats! There's no better feeling than the first time you get into your 'own' car! (No, not THAT either! ;) )

Gee, I wish I owned the "Saab Accessories" store in your neighborhood. ;)
