What has HAPpened to me and my knife preferences ?
I don't know how many months ago that I got my first Delica HAP40 , but it became my favourite knife almost over night .
I managed to bust the tip off the blade in a moment of stupidity , but I even that didn't dampen my enthusiasm , and within hours I had another one on its way , even if I paid hugely over the top for what is becoming a very rare commodity .
After a re-grind of the busted one resulting in a Kahr blade shape I was humming like a bad wheel bearing .
I have a number of other Spyderco's that I purchased before the HAP's and a few purchased after , but the HAP's get carried 95% of the time .
Great Steel
Great concept
Great marketing
Great company
Great knife .

I wish we'd have another run of HAP 40 Delicas, so I could feel the joy.

I do carry other knives often, but the HAP40 Delica is definitely a favorite!

totally agree, missed the boat the first time around but can't bring myself to pay over double a production Delica for one of these. Maybe as a Chanukah gift to myself

Would also like a second pressing of HAP40 delica's. Cant justify the BBS markup, but one day...

Me too!!! I've been able to get great deals on a Stretch, Dragonfly, and now a Manbug but I sure would like to have a HAP40 Delica. I'm pretty happy with VG10 so I don't worry too much about finding a HAP40. I might have to go with ZDP-189 instead.

Hap40 is my favorite steel that I've used, there's nothing bad I can say about it. It stays razer sharp longer than superblue and vg10, and it's more chip resistant as well. I have microchips on both my sb and vg10. Right now the hap40 delica competes with a s30v random leek for pocket time. I like the leek for it's sleek compact carry feature, but the delica wins hands down in utility.

Not sure of the difference between a HAP and regular Delica, but I've had mine for a shade over 20 years

I wanna see the regrind.

My only HAP is a Stretch. I am liking it thus far, but I wish I would have scored a Delica in one when they were first out.

That's pretty attractive right there, scales look like a sure grip, I'll have to check up on this HAP stuff ;)

Got a hap40 Delica as part of a trade today and immediately sold it for probably a bit too low but whatever  I like giving people deals. I couldn't get over its beauty... More than the blade, the specific shade of orange. Much nicer than their normal bright orange scales. The Delica is very ergonomically comfortable also. I just realized that I don't want that linker lock style of knife... I will stick to knives that are like the PM2 compression lock. I also need to try a Manix style, I think I will like that. But The Hap 40 blade... Love that lamination line. Can you post a picture of your new blade shape harronek?

I like that Spyderco sticks to their word and only does one run of any Sprint run. Start redoing them and they aren't really Sprint runs anymore. Might as well get rid of all Sprint runs and make everything a regular production knife.

I've missed plenty of them including the Hap40 Delica but that's the way it goes..win some lose some.

Rather than another run of anything Hap40 I'd like to see another Japanese steel..maybe Hap50? IMO Cobalt Blue would be a cool color.

You need to find a Caly3 ZDP-189 if you like the Leek. It is the same size and 3x the knife.

Well I'm glad you're so happy, Mr. Happy Happerton.

Don't be offended - just having fun. I'd be having more fun with a HAP 40 Delica in my pocket though, wouldn't I? ;)

I've been lusting over a cal 3 sb but it seems like they're the same size as delicas, not leeks. I like to be able to stick my hand in my pocket without feeling the FRN scratch the back of my hand.
