Well this is the next knife I am going to order so I would like to know what all it has done for you :)

Hi. I've had two Starmates. One had to be returned to Spyderco for uneven grind lines, the other is in my pocket right now. Aestetically, it is one of my favorite designs. Some complain that the handle is too straight but, I find it comfortable and practical. I can sometimes manipulate it faster than my Military. As you probably know, it's CMP-440V steel. If you've never had a knife with this steel, you're in for a suprise. It will hold an edge for a long, long time and sharpens up fairly easily. I carry mine every day along with my Military and use it often. I've test cut rope, cardboard tubes, jeans, 1.5 inch steak and various other materials and it performs very well. Spyderco has discontinued this model so, you better get one quick. Any more questions, just ask.

I've been carrying one I got in a trade from a fellow forumite on a daily basis. I absolutely love the Starmate. Since it's been discontinued, I ordered another one yesterday. It's very lightweight and razor sharp and makes a perfect EDC. In my opinion, it is one of the best production folders I've seen in a while.

I have a funny story for this one...

One night, my wife and I walked out of our apartment to check out a friends new car. Well, my dog didn't like that idea, so she jumped up on the door and "accidentally" locked both the deadbolts on the door once we were outside. In our apartments, only one of the deadbolts can be opened from the outside with a key, the other one must be opened from the inside. Also, we live on the 3rd story, so opening a window to get inside wasn't an option. Well, to make a long story even longer, I opened the door to our utility closet and used my Starmate to cut through 2 sheets of sheetrock to be able to reach my hand inside to unlock the door. Of course, the Starmate is pretty thick, so I had to use a hammer to beat it through the sheetrock. The lock held just fine. I would have rather had my fully serrated Endura (Serrations would have made short work of the sheetrock), but the plain edge Starmate did fine.
