As you all probably know (and are sick of hearing about) I went and bought this thing:
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/8422/stryker6ox.jpg
And now a transformation is taking place. I still read the forums and the magazines and OTHER knives don't even PHASE me.
I used to be able to work up at least a decent "gee, that's neat" and in most cases a full blown "Gotta get one of THOSE" or in rare instances a "price search and full COMMITMENT" on various knives I would see in posts or pictures.
Now.....n u t t i n.

I just look an look an look at this stupid 910 and say to myself "gee I should quit talkin to myself" but usually "hey, who NEEEEEDS anything else?"

I have even lost ....interest.... in WONDERFUL blades that I considered to be only days, weeks, or months from actually BUYING to satisfy that little nagging damn voice that makes money disappear.

HAVE I FOUND THE ....PERFECT.....KNIFE???????

This is serious. I could easily find myself looking to buy Beanie Babies or sumpin.

:p

Don't worry Lavan....that is a GREAT feeling, one I have experinced MANY times, but it will pass soon, and you will be back on your quest for the PERFECT knife!

If there is such a thing.... ;)

Although I have to admit that looks like a great folder!

Sometimes it sticks though...I've been riding the "Para is THE knife" wave for quite awhile now....though, that might change if I could legally carry my 41MC, but that doesn't look like it'll happen any time soon.

Sebenza? (esp. Tanto version)
What about a nice Elishewitz custom?
Need a nuclear tough Busse?
We'll tempt you, yes we will.... :D

Pssst. Lavan. Look here.

That was kind of cruel ;), but that sure is a great looking knife.

About that perfect knife. It has been over 45 years and I am still looking :). The best thing is that the journey and the people have been fantastic each step of the way.

Nah....you're still addicted....Even if you found the perfect EDC there's lots of other slots to fill. Gentleman knives, heavy duty work knives, hunting knives, camping and hiking knives, boating knives, etc. etc. Hell, camping knives alone I have every thing from an two inch bladed AG Russell Woodswalker to my 17 inch Chiruwa Ang Khola, and still need more!:D

I am ...IMMUNE....to any "psst, Look here" that leads to a slippery METAL HANDLED knife. Ugh. Retch. Cold. Slippy.

Now ....warm, inviting, grippy, traditional, tested, approved by Jerry Van Cook, tactical, textured ..... G10......ahhhhhhh.....:)

Wait until you get into custom knives before you say that. :D

Now this is a grind! (in my best aussie voice).

Yeah, considering Elishewitz was the designer of the 910, one of his customs might be a possibility...

or a 910 with M2 tool steel...

or one of the recently discontinued Ares models (another Elishewitz design),

You've only found your perfect (for now) FOLDER!
Start looking at some fixed blades (Bud Nealy, maybe?) or just pick up a couple Swiss Army Knives. They distract pretty easily.

I remember when Lavan thought his Fällkniven U2 was "the perfect knife" - until he started cutting cereal boxes with it :D
