Same buddy that gave me an Opinal 6 at some point in the eighties gave me this.

This is a 'Parker' one hand opening, liner lock folder. It is right at 3.5" closed. Scales are heavy duty stainless with little holes on each end, then two larger hoels and one even larger in the middle. It is riveted together, seemingly with brass rivets.

It opens with a knurled thumb stud easily to about 6 1/8" overall. It has about 2 3/8" usable blade in a roughly spearpoint config.

No pocket clip.

It is nearly butter knife dull. I don't even know if it will sharpen much, since I can't sharpen anything!

What have I got?

Hi,

You probably have a knife sold by the Parker knife company. You did not mention where it was made, but I'm guessing it was imported from Japan, as Parker imported many knives from Japan starting in the 70's up until very recently. I'd say your knife dates from the mid 80's to the early 90's.

These are more user's, then collectable pieces. The steel is probably 420J2, or 440A, so you probably could get a useable edge on it, if you work at it:).

Not much time right this minute...

It also has 'USA' on the blade, as well as a winged design or something.

Ah, If it has Eagle(the winged thing:)), Then it is a Parker, the Eagle was one of the companies many trademarks. The U.S.A. marking is a bit interesting, as you don't see them as often as the Japan marking. Who they contracted with for this knife is a mystery, but Parker did use Fain Edwards sometimes(how Bear Mgc.) during the period I would guess this knife was made.
