I'm not pretending to have known Mr. Mattis, quite the contrary. Just know that he is a part of the reason I've spent so much time here.

So, with his memory, one of his favorite questions that arose seemed to always be the Tolkien quote by Gollum:

"What have we in our pocketses?"

I always remember his emptied pocket scan and the huge amount of hardware he carried.

I have a Large Sebenza in my pocket, with my Leatherman PST and tool adapter for backup.

Not as grand as Mr. Mattis. But from the great impression he made here, that would seem to be quite a task.

hmmm yep he was a wonder at the scanner! NO ONE was better when it came to bringing an excellent image to cause the drool to come forth in most of us!

Today I have a nice little W.D. Pease fixed blade with stag scales, tapered tang, very cool comfortable knife, blade is 2 3/4" long and overall length is 6 1/2".

here is a peek at it....

Pretty much the same as everyday:

  • *'98 Emerson Commander
    *MT UDT (Ocean Blue/stonewash/plain edge)
*Two sets of keys (one work, one personal)
    *Pager (on belt)
    *Wallet
    *Misc. Change
*and a loud, politically incorrect, defensive item.
