I was able to go to this page a minute ago...but now it won't let me? (I even posted there--it's just a dumb ad for a Chinese knife, but the question still stands.)

I am not editing someone else's post. (Just trying to view the thread.) My account is not disabled. I have a paid membership--what is this "sub-forum for paid members"? (I assume that means the Cove. I have been able to go to the Cove in the past, but I can't view this thread?)

It's just an ad for a Chinese knife by a poster with the same name as the knife -- perhaps the maker, or the manufacturer, or the dealer?

Yes. I moved it offline, so it is no longer an ad, it is a bit of history in the moderators forum, with a warning to the original poster of the ad.

It means you are no longer allowed to read that thread. :D

That is the message that shows when a moderator moves the thread to the backend of the database, where only superusers get to see content.

Whenever I get that page after clicking a post, I know someone's stepping in doo-doo. :)
