What I got...
Over dinner, I cooked up a new plan... knowing i would arrive after the trough raid.
I'm thinking I'll ride the bike down from Indy. I made plans and even started packing.
But wait? Will I have enough room to bring back loot?
There were some daydreams of a rig I saw the week before but I'm not ready for that kind of commitment.
I guess it will have to be the car. S'kay... I got the "coffin" on the roof.
Before the drive, I'm hearing all about Porkerson's score on the phone. Humble as he is, he still sounds stoked. I'm jealous but at least have a lovely drive... short of the incessant calls from Terry Newton and Poorguy.
Who am I to complain? It's a beautiful day, even to be stuck in the car.
Made it!
Folks are having a grand time attempting to light fires like Grandpa did it.
The Busse booth was great with Josh, Stewie, RVO3VOM, and assist. (Sorry, I forget.) Garth, Waz and the ladies had already left. They missed the pleasure that is paddling_man.
I found my Hog folks and met a newish Hog from Indy: M67 from my local gun forum.
The day was good. I picked up some loot - INFI, mil-surp and otherwise. The night concluded with cigars, beer, mexican food and hanging with old friends.
Poorguy's lock on his truck needs some help but thankfully the folks at Fort Knox couldn't pick the ingenious Georgia lock. I understand Porkerson checked it for him.
One of my newest members of the family, Durwood, presented a gift to TNRat.
He was pleased.
The next morning was a shopping trip to US Cav..
Poorguy and Durwood looked mighty suspicious.
I've now learned to run... backwards, when they laugh like that.
I was nearly to Louisville when I noticed my fuel consumption had grown "poorer" thanks to poorguy. I had a "gift" on my rack!
I quick call to Poorguy, threatening to send some pictures I had of him with Tim-the-Slugman to Poorguy's lovely wife - well, let's just say he promptly turned around and retrieved Terry from my roof.
Who's laughing now?!
At the last goodbye I received a phone call from a Brother I missed this visit. There I heard some news - cooked up by my Brother with TN and PG held in confidence & secrecy - of an honor that I'm not worthy to accept but one that I am nearly brought to tears by. That's another story for the future. Wow...
I love my Brothers and Hog-Rat-Dog brothers. It is indeed an amazing family.
OH?! I almost forgot! Poorguy has been duracoating! I gave him my Sprignfield Loaded a bit ago and it was returned to me this weekend! It went from a nasty, abused park'ed finish...
To this work of art. It now sports (unpictured) Busse thin, tan canvas micarta.
I DID NOT, HOWEVER, GIVE HIM PERMISSION TO PAINT MY CAR. I THINK HE HAS WATCHED TOO MANY REPEATS OF NAT'L LAMPOONS VACATION.
