What I got from CRK for my $12

This thread is something of an apology to CRK for my even getting involved in the now infamous "lock up thread" that started just before the SHOT show.

About a week before that show, I shipped my large Sebenza along with a $12 check to CRK for a resharpening and point reconstruction. Its not that I can't sharpen my own knife, but I did break off about 1mm of the very tip, and I figured CRK could do a much better job of regrinding that point than I could, so for $12 (plus my shipping and insurance costing a total of $5.00 or so) I sent my knife to them with a little note.

As I expected when learning of the SHOT show, no one got to my knife after it arrived just one day before the Reeve's were to leave. When they returned, I waited a couple of days to let Anne clear her mailbox and then wrote her a polite letter asking about the status of my knife. That was last Thurs (1/18). I didn't hear back from them on Fri, but on Monday (1/22) the knife arrived at my door shipped by UPS second day air.

Yes, they did a great job of resharpening the edge and reconstructing the point as I had hoped, but I got even a little more. Remember this knife has been used for 3 years, and while never abused, it has been around the block, and the Ti slabs showed it by being scratched up. When the knife came back, the slabs looked brand new! The scratches had been buffed out of them! What a deal. Thanks CRK!
