Finished this one up and shipped to the customer last week so figured I better post it. This is the first of a dozen or more I am working on, also this is the last pic with the old camera, a new one is on the way.
Any way this was made from a Ball Pien Hammer. 9 3/4" high, 3" cutting edge. Hickory handle. The finish is etched to a antique finish, the file work was filled with brass. Gib

Very nice !! did you undercut the notches ? what does it look like from the top ?

Nice looking Hawk, are you forging it by hand or power hammer? :D how do you keep the eye from deforming while forging?

Mete, What I did was to do file work and then fill It up by brazing then finishing up on the Burr King. The top looks like the sides with the points coming togather.

Terry, All my forging is done by hand. I used a tomahawk drift to re drift the eye. Gib

Beutiful job Gib, I love the brass, I may have to try something like that on the next hawk'.

Cant wait to see some more Gib. Doing a local show this w/e and then I'm going to hit it hard. Hopefully be able to use what you sent me and show it off.
