At your age, try to stay diversified and remember there's more to life than knives...at my age, they're pretty much all I think about...:D;)

You'll want to save money for student loans and luxuries throughout college such as a coffee pot/ramen cooker. I'm not joking.

Your best bet would be to get the highest quality comfortable folding knife you can find. Spyderco, benchmade, and kershaw are all great places to start. The great thing about Sypderco and Kershaw are you can go to their subforums right here on bladeforums and talk to highly respected people within the company if you have any concerns. Want to talk to the founder of Spyderco? Go ahead, he's a regular poster here. Want to discuss various features with the guy who designed your Kershaw? If it's Ken Onion he's also a regular poster here.

Good list. I think that you are on the right track to start a good knife addiction. With the prices of the Outcast being what they are I think that they are great starter knives as far as good choppers go. You have a good start for the folders as well. Next I would recommend a sharpener (dmt stones if you know how already, Spyderco Sharpmaker or Ducksfoot if you need help), and a multitool (leatherman wave or Swiss Tool Spirit). Make sure that your parents are OK with this and have fun using them responsibly (and showing us your pictures)!!

P.S. If you have any questions we are here for ya!

Awesome. Enjoy life!

If that what you are into go for it. It is all downhill after you get out of highschool :D
