I have often marveled at how easy it is to get the Golden Rule backwards. Many times many of us think it is to treat others the way they treat you. That is not it. The Golden Rule is to treat others the way you want to be treated. It is mind boggling how easy it is to think the former is the same as the latter. They are not. It is fairly easy to treat another with respect when they are respecting you. It is another matter all together to treat them with respect when they appear to be disrespecting you. When it comes down to the finally rub, I believe it is of value to ask oneself did/will my contribution help create the type of energy and the type of world I want for my kid?
 
BMK, I'm guessing we're taking the same classes though I'm not in Track 1 or 2 yet, still in stabilization. You will find that knife makers are the same as the guys in the classes, as long as there is honesty there is forgiveness.
 
Be polite to everyone and have a plan to kill everyone you meet. That way you're covered on both ends. :)

That is sound advice! A variation of: "Hope for the best and plan for the worst."

I still like the, "Be civil, but never friendly" rule! :)
