When I was getting ready for work this morning I heard a loud sound in the back yard. I knew what it was, but how many of you wake up and hear this 50 feet from your back yard?

That's right - they crop dust the fields around my home, so I get to see this scamp winging his way back and forth, too and fro around the fields in the area.

It was early so the light was good, but dangit my camera I just can't seem to get it clean anymore.

I thought some of you might enjoy seeing this - it is fun for me to see, even though it makes it hard for the people in the house that work a later shift to sleep in.....

Sweet! Those things scare the crap out of me when I watch them fly. Those guys are serious aviators. Most of if not all crop dust planes have 'V' like wire cutters on the leading edge of the wings to cut power lines if they run into them. A few of the crop dust pilots I've had conversations with, when speaking of cutting power lines, say there are those who have and those who will! Nice pics!

They still do that huh?I thought crop dusting died out with Randy Quaid in Independence Day.;)

Cool pics Andy.

For these shots I was standing next to the corn, holding the camera over my head and panning as the plane went by - I was happy this shot came out at all!

Really? Very interesting and slightly terrifying. :)

Great captures! That's one gutzy line of work.

Those are some cool shots. I don't think we have much of that up here, least not around where I live. The planes that buzz my house are much bigger, LOL.

That is pretty neat Andy.

Those guys have to be a little off their rocker to do something like that.

All I see around here is tractors and the occasional redneck on a four-wheeler.:D

very cool pics andy. i haven't seen that in a looong time.

Cool pics! Way back when I was in high school I worked on construction crews building golf courses. Built one that was surrounded by fields that were crop dusted every so often. When ever that duster was working I just had to stop and watch and be amazed. As others have said: talented and nuts are the two main descriptors I'd use.
