What I took to ICCE - Photos by Eric Eggly

I posted a quick group shot of what I made for ICCE but didn't have time to do any quality photos. I had Eric shoot them Thursday when I arrived and he did a fantastic job.

First is my Freelancer XL model. The model names really only refer to the handle shape and I do the blades in many different profiles; this one being a harpoon/recurve. Blade is W2, bolsters are etched copper with hand drawn resist and scales are mammoth ivory. This and the Kevlar knife below represent my first work using the Deckel pantograph to shape the bolsters and scales. There will definitely be more of this in my future work.

Next up is a small gentleman's folder. This sports Doug Ponzio's Turkish Lace Damascus, Zirconium bolsters/backspacer and stabilized Snakewood scales.

This is my standard Freelancer with a tanto grind. Blade is Damasteel's Dense Twist, bolsters/backspacer are zirc and the scales are Thunderstorm Kevlar. This knife is still available and posted in the for sale section.

All very nice, but I really like that etched copper and curved bolsters (individually and together).

Always liked that first one alot. Its got that Johnny Stout thing going on! These look solid!

Eric make a good work, but yours is a really excellent work!!!

All of those are beautiful Bob! And, there is now a special place in my heart (and pocket) for that snakewood ! :D Also, congrats, not only for winning the guild's best tactical folder award at the show .... but also noticed another of your Freelancer XLs (dressed in Mammoth tooth) featured in the January 2017 edition of Blade Magazine! Congratulations.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone. Also, I appreciate all of you who came by the table at the show. The time I spend at the shows talking with other makers, collectors and enthusiasts are treasured moments. There is just no other group as friendly and humble as the knife community. I am honored to call you my friends!

those are really nice knives. I especially like the curved bolsters too.

They're all beauties, Bob, but you know my thoughts, I love that #1 with the copper bolsters and rear handle curve. Yeah!
