i really would LOVE to see a scaled down BK2 made with a 4" blade. preferably with a leather sheath. that is the maximum length in my state, and it would be my choice for edc as i often have to much junk in my pockets for a folder. the necker is a nice one, but not quite what im lookin for.

by one and have somebody on these boards customize it

you can check out sunrise river custom knives or just surf around on here and try PMing somebody

good luck in your endeavors

Your state says you can only have a 4" blade?

lamont Coombs a knifemaker who can be found on this site modified my BK2 and is modifying a Tops Tracker for me. He might be able to help you. Though I imagine you could just keep on eye out in the makers for sale area and something will pop up that you like that will be less money than that kind of mod will be.

sorry, i should have been clearer. 4" is the limit for a knife to be on your person, and "concealed". if youre out hunting, this is overlooked, but i want a Becker for an every day carry knife. thanks for the info on lamont, i might end up contacting him

i havent measured the blade on one, but i believe it's 5 or 5 1/2", right? i was thinking maybe 3 and 3/4" with a slightly smaller grip, and a pommel like the new ones are gonna have, with the skull crusher. it would come in handy when im walking my dogs, alotta mutts like to charge a dog on a leash. im betting a bash on the skull would send them running. it would be the IDEAL knife for daily chores and not quite as obvious with a higher riding sheath. just an idea ;)

yeah, they're just under 5 inches of actual edge... cutting it down won't really work, but one COULD slice off the tip, and get a pry-bar type tac-tool if one REALLY wanted. ETA: actually just measured a blackjack era Campanion - my EDC model, and it's ALMOST 5 inches... the KaBar becker model has a choil, so that removes about 1/8 inch of the working edge.

you'll just have to wait for those smaller knives that were introduced in that photo thread ;)

for dogs, a plastic kubotan would probably work wonders, and you could also use it as a pry stick if need me. a walking stick or hiking pole with a heavy handle would be better (and 100% legal)...

right now im carrying a 21" ASP baton, and a Glock 19.

then you're probably all set on dog defense :> unless a taser or mace would work.

when i had a paper route, many decades ago, i got to carry REAL mace, the kind that make you instantly empty your stomach, as opposed to tasting like cajun food :> mmm, peppery :) that stuff dropped dogs in their tracks. didn't like using it, but if a dog is chasing you for 300 yds and is a known biter, and off its property, it loses. one of them weight 200 lbs, so i don't think it would notice a baton :)

i still want a scaled down Becker!! i just wish it was a production model so i didnt have to deal with a custom knife maker modifying a BK2
