What I was looking for, right under my nose - sheesh!

I get a bit focused when it comes to organizing or figuring out the "perfect way", for me, to accomplish something.

I've been using a regular clear-plastic squirt bottle for my Shapton Glass stones, the kind from the kitchen supply store ... works, but not that perfect solution.

What was wrong?

I watch MrEdgy and Harrelson Stanley on YouTube use the mini-pump spray bottles to clean, water their stones. I finally figured what I like about their system is it "power washes" the stone a bit, there is force to the water and it is concentrated.

Like the idea, like the product, but for right now it is not an option. Then, I got something in my eye the other day and while reaching for my eye cup and saline bottle I noticed the saline bottle has a minute hole and when I fill up the eye cup with solution it jets out under pressure if I squeeze a bit.

TADA - we have a winner. That saline bottle, for now, is the perfect solution to my inquiry ... pinpoint accuracy, not too much water so not too sloppy and it's like a miniature power washer when I apply the correct amount of pressure ... best part, free.

All the best.

Check out the Solo 1 liter and 2 liter offerings. That is what I use these days.

pjwoolw - THAT is what I was looking for, the 1 liter model. Thank You.

Chris "Anagarika" ... I appreciate the FYI. Thank You. Quick Question - how did you post a blue smiley icon? I do not have the ability to bold or italicize or post icons in my text.

You can use the advance edit to add smileys. Or you can reply with quote, it'll show you the text and other element changer as used by the poster, if you see the one you need.
Bold, Laughing icon :D. etc. It's actually text with the element change added before or after the text. If you ever used Word Perfect 5.1 (on DOS), the concept is the same.

I just rinse any of my water stones or diamond plates under the kitchen faucet.
I use a nagura stone like an eraser to clean the metal swarf out of the stone pores then rinse again. I have no use for a spray bottle of any kind and would not want the mess on the counter where I sharpen. I have never even put any water in the bottle that came with my Edge Pro. Nor have I used the blue towel. I use a wash cloth to wipe the smooth neoprene mat were I sharpen but NEVER wipe the stone with it. I don't want any kind of paper or cloth fibers clogging up my stones.

The spray bottle is a bit messy, there is overspray that tends to get everywhere and it uses more water.

I like squeeze bottles best but it's one of those things I forget to buy until I'm using my sprayer again. I think your standard yellow and red mustard and ketchup bottles found in restaurants would be better.

The Solo units I'm using are very nice. Effective, controllable and adjusts well. Good pressure. 70% less mess. Uses much less water to accomplish the task than the other spray bottles / methods I was and have used previously. As I don't sharpen at or near a sink these have really made life easier.
